Red Dog Kiteboarding that is us – Mike and Madlen Sprowl. We are excited to be part of your kiteboarding adventure.

Mike is an original Texan, born and raised in Houston. He has been an athlete all of his life, starting out with cycling, running and doing triathlons. His job as a personal trainer brought him to Maui, Hawaii where he started pursuing his passion for different kinds of watersports – kiteboarding, surfing and stand up paddle boarding. Mike is a very experienced and certified instructor who taught kiteboarding on Maui’s famous “Kite Beach” for over 7 years. Maui is one of the best spots in the world to learn and advance in this exciting sport, be it for wake-style tricks or catching the waves.

Madlen grew up in Germany being very active herself, running and cross-country skiing competitively for more than 10 years. Her work allowed her to travel to different parts of the world which eventually led her to meet Mike in Maui. Now take a good guess how we two met?  …. Kiteboarding! Mike was Madlen’s instructor when she first started to get into this sport. She is now an avid water girl.

We now call South Padre Island, Texas, home and continue to enjoy being in the water every day, be it kiteboarding in the flat waters of the Laguna Madre, catching a wave in the Gulf of Mexico or enjoying the sunset from a stand up paddleboard.
